NOVEMBER 2011: Avandia (rosiglitazone) can lead to a risk of cardiovascular events. Healthcare providers and patients must enroll in a special program in order to prescribe and receive this drug which also includes Avandamet, and Avandaryl.

 

NOVEMBER 2011: Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) Blockers <treats Chrohn's Disease> have updated reports stating Hepatosplenic T-cell Lymphoma (rare cancer of white blood cells) may be in adolescents and young adults who receive these types of drugs.

 

NOVEMBER 2011: Cholesterol Lowering drug Trilipix (fenofibric acid)may not lower a patient's risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

 

NOVEMBER 2011: Sexual enhancement drug Virility Max contains an undeclared drug ingredient called sulfoaildenafil, an analog of sildenafil. Sildenafil is an active ingredient of an FDA approved drug for erectile dysfunction (ED), making Virility Max an unapproved drug. The undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. Additionally, the product may cause side effects, such as headaches and flushing.
