FEBRUARY 2009:  FDA WANTS MORE BLACK BOX WARNINGS FOR AVANDIA AND ACTOS BECAUSE ITS BEEN SHOWN TO INCREASE RISK OF HEART FAILURE. 

FEBRUARY 2009: HEPARIN SODIUM USP RECALLED FOR SERIOUS SYMPTOMS OF ORAL SWELLING, NAUSEA, VOMITING, SWEATING, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, AND HYPOTENSION (LOW BLOOD PRESSURE)

FEBRUARY 2009: PAXIL RECALLED BECAUSE THE USE IN THE FIRST TRIMESTER IN PREGNANCY MAY CAUSE SERIOUS BIRTH DEFECTS SUCH AS BRAIN/SPINAL CORD INJURY, HEART/LUNG INJURY, ABDOMINAL WALL INJURY, CLUB FOOT, AND CLOSURE OF ANUS.

FEBRUARY 2009: BIRTH CONTROL YAZ AND YASMIN HAS BEEN LINKED TO SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS LIKE HEART ATTACK, STROKE, KIDNEY/LIVER DISEASE, DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (DVT), GALLBLADDER DISEASE, ORGAN FAILURE AND DEATH.
